Final Oral Examination Marks
For Ph103 LS and Ph104 LS:
Your final oral examination marks are already posted on the Philosophy Department bulletin boards near the lobby of de la Costa Hall and along the corridor of the same building.
Thank you so much for all the hours we spent together. Shall we go out for drinks, say on the week before your blue roast and graduation? We could just be a small group on a quiet evening discussing anything or a big one to celebrate camaraderie. Leave a comment below with your thoughts on the matter.
Good luck and enjoy life.

Ph 104: Oral Examinations will push through as scheduled
As some of you already know, the Office of the President of the Philippines declared that classes will be suspended on Friday, 28 April 2017. In reaction to this the VPLS of Ateneo decided to move all examinations scheduled on that day to Saturday, 29 April 2017.
FOR OUR PH 104 CLASS, HOWEVER, OUR ORAL EXAMINATIONS WILL PUSH THROUGH AS ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED.
Please refer to the schedule already posted on the Philosophy bulletin boards at de la Costa Hall. This is the schedule you signed-up for before the declaration and this same schedule will remain in effect.
For those scheduled to take the exam on Saturday, please notify me by email as soon as possible if the VPLS decision has created a conflict between your philosophy oral exam and your final exam in another subject. We shall of course make changes if necessary.
Thank you to those who sent me emails to ask about the above concern. I apologize for not responding individually to your questions. I hope that this announcement will suffice as my reply.
I intuit that my decision is in line with the Greatest Happiness Principle of the Utilitarians. But I will not clutter this announcement with a transcript of my deliberation. But please do inform me if there is evidence to the contrary.
Study hard and Good luck.

Ph103: Changes to our schedule
Dear Ph 103 L & S (Philosophy of Religion):
I am sure that you heard that we won't be meeting on Tuesday 21 February due to the alternative class offerings. Due to this, I have decided to finish discussing both Marcel's The Transcendent as Metaproblematic and From Opinion to Faith today, February 14. On Thursday, February 16 we will begin Lauer's The Problem of Unbelief.
Please be guided accordingly.

For Ph 103 S (TTh 09h30-10h50)
Dear Ph 103 S,
We ended class yesterday, February 7, without assigning anyone to give the repetitio for tomorrow, February 9. Our syllabus states that we will pick a student on the spot to give a report at the beginning of the next class session if at the end of the last class session we were unable to assign a student to give the said report. Aside from this, we have a very short semester and we must always have at least one report each class day so that everyone will be able to take one's turn and fulfill this class requirement.
I am posting this announcement not just to remind you but also to invite anyone among you to consider reporting tomorrow so that you could at least come prepared and ready.
The person to give the report tomorrow must cover the sections starting with Hieropaniya until the end of Fr. Ferriols' Pakikitagpo sa Banal.
Thank you for your attention.

Ph103&Ph104: Updated syllabus now available on AISIS
Dear Ph103 L&S, and Ph104 L&S:
I updated our syllabus according to the correct calendar of activities and submitted it anew on AISIS. I have emailed my department chair just in case he needs to post it before it becomes accessible to you. Please download it as soon as possible so that we can immediately know if it is indeed already accessible to you. You know you have the updated syllabus if it contains the following dates:
27 February - 4 March: midterm oral examinations
30 March: reflection paper deadline
26-29 April: final oral examinations
Downloading the new syllabus is necessary so that these adjusted dates will also appear on the midterms and finals week schedules you will submit at the appointed time. Aside from this, the schedule of course readings and other deadlines have been adjusted as well.
Thank you for your attention, patience, and understanding.
PJ Strebel
